Tests showed they had \u201calopecia, or loss of fur, and other skin lesions,\u201d\u00a0<a title=\"the U.S. Geological Survey said in a statement\" href=\"http:\/\/www.usgs.gov\/newsroom\/article.asp?ID=3162\" target=\"_blank\">the U.S. Geological Survey said in a statement<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong>\u00a0There is an\u00a0<a title=\"epidemic of sea lion deaths\" href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/contributed\/2013-03-31\/fukushima-radiation-causing-epidemic-dead-and-starving-sea-lions-california\" target=\"_blank\">epidemic of sea lion deaths<\/a>\u00a0along the California coastline\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>At island rookeries off the Southern California coast, 45 percent of the pups born in June have died, said Sharon Melin, a wildlife biologist for the National Marine Fisheries Service based in Seattle. Normally, less than one-third of the pups would die. \u00a0 It\u2019s gotten so bad in the past two weeks that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration declared an \u201cunusual mortality event.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong>\u00a0Along the Pacific coast of Canada and the Alaska coastline, the population of sockeye salmon is at\u00a0<a title=\"a historic low\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/news\/british-columbia\/lake-babine-sockeye-fishery-at-risk-of-unprecedented-closure\/article13715638\/?service=print\" target=\"_blank\">a historic low<\/a>.\u00a0 Many are blaming Fukushima.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong>\u00a0Something is causing fish all along the west coast of Canada\u00a0<a title=\"to bleed from their gills, bellies and eyeballs\" href=\"http:\/\/www.canada.com\/investigating+reports+bleeding+herring\/8795535\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\">to bleed from their gills, bellies and eyeballs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.<\/strong>\u00a0A vast field of radioactive debris from Fukushima that is\u00a0<a title=\"approximately the size of California\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/2012\/03\/radioactive-debris-washing-up-on-pacific-coast.html\" target=\"_blank\">approximately the size of California<\/a>\u00a0has crossed the Pacific Ocean and is starting to collide with the west coast.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6.<\/strong>\u00a0It is being projected that the radioactivity of coastal waters off the U.S. west coast\u00a0<a title=\"could double\" href=\"http:\/\/environmentalresearchweb.org\/cws\/article\/news\/50176\" target=\"_blank\">could double<\/a>\u00a0over the next five to six years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7.<\/strong>\u00a0Experts have found\u00a0<a title=\"very high levels of cesium-137\" href=\"http:\/\/www.japantimes.co.jp\/news\/2013\/05\/22\/national\/researchers-find-high-cesium-in-some-pacific-plankton\/#.UZu7-GfYGTc\" target=\"_blank\">very high levels of cesium-137<\/a>\u00a0in plankton living in the waters of the Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and the west coast.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8.<\/strong>\u00a0One test in California found that\u00a0<a title=\"15 out of 15\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/2012\/05\/absolutely-every-one-of-the-15-bluefin-tuna-tested-in-california-waters-contaminated-with-fukushima-radiation.html\" target=\"_blank\">15 out of 15<\/a>\u00a0bluefin tuna were contaminated with radiation from Fukushima.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9.<\/strong>\u00a0Back in 2012, the Vancouver Sun reported that cesium-137 was being found in\u00a0<a title=\"a very high percentage\" href=\"http:\/\/readersupportednews.org\/news-section2\/343-203\/9463-canada-fish-eaters-threatened-by-fukushima-radiation\" target=\"_blank\">a very high percentage<\/a>\u00a0of the fish that Japan was selling to Canada\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 73 percent of mackerel tested<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 91 percent of the halibut<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 92 percent of the sardines<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 93 percent of the tuna and eel<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 94 percent of the cod and anchovies<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 100 percent of the carp, seaweed, shark and monkfish<\/p>\n<p><strong>10.<\/strong>\u00a0Canadian authorities are finding\u00a0<a title=\"extremely high levels of nuclear radiation\" href=\"http:\/\/canadaam.ctvnews.ca\/report-raises-fresh-concerns-about-radiation-levels-in-japanese-fish-1.1486514\" target=\"_blank\">extremely high levels of nuclear radiation<\/a>\u00a0in certain fish samples\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Some fish samples tested to date have had very high levels of radiation: one sea bass sample collected in July, for example, had 1,000 becquerels per kilogram of cesium.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>11.<\/strong>\u00a0Some experts believe that we could see very high levels of cancer along the west coast\u00a0<a title=\"just from people eating contaminated fish\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nationaljournal.com\/global-security-newswire\/nuclear-power-industry-lawmakers-at-odds-over-epa-response-guide-20130923\" target=\"_blank\">just from people eating contaminated fish<\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cLook at what\u2019s going on now: They\u2019re dumping huge amounts of radioactivity into the ocean \u2014 no one expected that in 2011,\u201d Daniel Hirsch, a nuclear policy lecturer at the University of California-Santa Cruz, told\u00a0Global Security Newswire. \u201cWe could have large numbers of cancer from ingestion of fish.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>12.<\/strong>\u00a0BBC News recently reported that radiation levels around Fukushima are \u201c<a title=\"18 times higher\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/world-asia-23918882\" target=\"_blank\">18 times higher<\/a>\u201d than previously believed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>13.<\/strong>\u00a0An\u00a0<a title=\"EU-funded study\" href=\"http:\/\/www.atmos-chem-phys.net\/13\/1425\/2013\/acp-13-1425-2013.html\" target=\"_blank\">EU-funded study<\/a>\u00a0concluded that Fukushima released up to 210 quadrillion becquerels of cesium-137 into the atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p><strong>14.<\/strong>\u00a0Atmospheric radiation from Fukushima reached the west coast of the United States\u00a0<a title=\"within a few days\" href=\"http:\/\/news.discovery.com\/earth\/oceans\/fukushima-radioactive-plume-reach-us-130901.htm\" target=\"_blank\">within a few days<\/a>\u00a0back in 2011.<\/p>\n<p><strong>15.<\/strong>\u00a0At this point,\u00a0<a title=\"300 tons\" href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/japan-government-joining-efforts-contain-fukushima-toxic-water-033418884.html\" target=\"_blank\">300 tons<\/a>\u00a0of contaminated water is pouring into the Pacific Ocean from Fukushima every single day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>16.<\/strong>\u00a0A senior researcher of marine chemistry at the Japan Meteorological Agency\u2019s Meteorological Research Institute says that \u201c30 billion becquerels of radioactive cesium and 30 billion becquerels of radioactive strontium\u201d are being released into the Pacific Ocean from Fukushima\u00a0<a title=\"every single day\" href=\"http:\/\/ajw.asahi.com\/article\/0311disaster\/fukushima\/AJ201309200053\" target=\"_blank\">every single day<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>17.<\/strong>\u00a0According to Tepco, a total of somewhere between\u00a0<a title=\"20 trillion and 40 trillion becquerels of radioactive tritium\" href=\"http:\/\/thetruthwins.com\/archives\/radioactive-water-from-fukushima-is-systematically-poisoning-the-entire-pacific-ocean\">20 trillion and 40 trillion becquerels of radioactive tritium<\/a>\u00a0have gotten into the Pacific Ocean since the Fukushima disaster first began.<\/p>\n<p><strong>18.<\/strong>\u00a0According to a professor at Tokyo University, 3 gigabecquerels of cesium-137 are flowing into the port at Fukushima Daiichi\u00a0<a title=\"every single day\" href=\"http:\/\/enenews.com\/mystery-tv-expert-says-oceans-radiation-levels-too-high-to-be-explained-by-only-groundwater-there-must-be-other-routes-for-contamination-thats-flowing-into-pacific-devastating-impact\" target=\"_blank\">every single day<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>19.<\/strong>\u00a0It has been estimated that up to\u00a0<a title=\"100 times\" href=\"http:\/\/readersupportednews.org\/news-section2\/343-203\/9463-canada-fish-eaters-threatened-by-fukushima-radiation\" target=\"_blank\">100 times<\/a>\u00a0as much nuclear radiation has been released into the ocean from Fukushima than was released during the entire Chernobyl disaster.<\/p>\n<p><strong>20.<\/strong>\u00a0One recent study concluded that a very large plume of cesium-137 from the Fukushima disaster will start flowing into U.S. coastal waters\u00a0<a title=\"early next year\" href=\"http:\/\/news.discovery.com\/earth\/oceans\/fukushima-radioactive-plume-reach-us-130901.htm\" target=\"_blank\">early next year<\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Ocean simulations showed that the plume of radioactive cesium-137 released by the Fukushima disaster in 2011 could begin flowing into U.S. coastal waters starting in early 2014 and peak in 2016.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>21.<\/strong>\u00a0It is being projected that significant levels of cesium-137 will reach every corner of the Pacific Ocean\u00a0<a title=\"by the year 2020\" href=\"http:\/\/www.whiotv.com\/news\/news\/world\/activist-warns-days-eating-pacific-ocean-fish-are-\/nZjdK\/\" target=\"_blank\">by the year 2020<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>22.<\/strong>\u00a0It is being projected that the entire Pacific Ocean will soon \u201c<a title=\"have cesium levels 5 to 10 times higher\" href=\"http:\/\/enenews.com\/radio-fukushima-daiichi-has-contaminated-the-biggest-body-of-water-on-the-planet-whole-pacific-ocean-likely-to-have-cesium-levels-5-10-times-higher-than-at-peak-of-nuclear-bomb-tests-audio\" target=\"_blank\">have cesium levels 5 to 10 times higher<\/a>\u201d than what we witnessed during the era of heavy atomic bomb testing in the Pacific many decades ago.<\/p>\n<p><strong>23.<\/strong>\u00a0The immense amounts of nuclear radiation getting into the water in the Pacific Ocean has caused environmental activist Joe Martino to issue\u00a0<a title=\"the following warning\" href=\"http:\/\/www.whiotv.com\/news\/news\/world\/activist-warns-days-eating-pacific-ocean-fish-are-\/nZjdK\/\" target=\"_blank\">the following warning<\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cYour days of eating Pacific Ocean fish are over.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>24.<\/strong>\u00a0The Iodine-131, Cesium-137 and Strontium-90 that are constantly coming from Fukushima are going to affect the health of those living the the northern hemisphere for a very, very long time.\u00a0 Just consider what\u00a0<a title=\"Harvey Wasserman\" href=\"http:\/\/www.economicpolicyjournal.com\/2013\/08\/the-fukushima-nightmare-gets-worse.html\" target=\"_blank\">Harvey Wasserman<\/a>\u00a0had to say about this\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Iodine-131, for example, can be ingested into the thyroid, where it emits beta particles (electrons) that damage tissue. A plague of damaged thyroids has already been reported among as many as 40 percent of the children in the Fukushima area. That percentage can only go higher. In developing youngsters, it can stunt both physical and mental growth. Among adults it causes a very wide range of ancillary ailments, including cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Cesium-137 from Fukushima has been found in fish caught as far away as California. It spreads throughout the body, but tends to accumulate in the muscles.<\/p>\n<p>Strontium-90\u2019s half-life is around 29 years. It mimics calcium and goes to our bones.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>25.<\/strong>\u00a0According to a recent\u00a0<a title=\"Planet Infowars report\" href=\"http:\/\/planet.infowars.com\/outdoors\/california-coastline-becoming-like-dead-zone-fukushima-to-blame\" target=\"_blank\">Planet Infowars report<\/a>, the California coastline is being transformed into \u201ca dead zone\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The California coastline is becoming like a dead zone.<\/p>\n<p>If you haven\u2019t been to a California beach lately, you probably don\u2019t know that the rocks are unnaturally CLEAN \u2013 there\u2019s hardly any kelp, barnacles, sea urchins, etc. anymore and the tide pools are similarly eerily devoid of crabs, snails and other scurrying signs of life\u2026 and especially as compared to 10 \u2013 15 years ago when one was wise to wear tennis shoes on a trip to the beach in order to avoid cutting one\u2019s feet on all the STUFF of life \u2013 broken shells, bones, glass, driftwood, etc.<\/p>\n<p>There are also days when I am hard-pressed to find even a half dozen seagulls and\/or terns on the county beach.<\/p>\n<p>You can still find a few gulls trolling the picnic areas and some of the restaurants (with outdoor seating areas) for food, of course, but, when I think back to 10 \u2013 15 years ago, the skies and ALL the beaches were literally filled with seagulls and the haunting sound of their cries both day and night\u2026<\/p>\n<p>NOW it\u2019s unnaturally quiet.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>26.<\/strong>\u00a0A study\u00a0<a title=\"conducted last year\" href=\"http:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007%2Fs11434-012-5171-6\" target=\"_blank\">conducted last year<\/a>\u00a0came to the conclusion that radiation from the Fukushima nuclear disaster could negatively affect human life along the west coast of North America from Mexico to Alaska \u201cfor decades\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>27.<\/strong>\u00a0According to the Wall Street Journal, it is being projected that the cleanup of Fukushima could take\u00a0<a title=\"up to 40 years to complete\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/japanrealtime\/2013\/08\/15\/fukushima-watch-tepco-finally-gets-an-official-cleanup-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\">up to 40 years to complete<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>28.<\/strong>\u00a0Yale Professor Charles Perrow is warning that if the cleanup of Fukushima is not handled with 100% precision that humanity could be threatened \u201c<a title=\"for thousands of years\" href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/charles-perrow\/fukushima-forever_b_3941589.html\" target=\"_blank\">for thousands of years<\/a>\u201c\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cConditions in the unit 4 pool, 100 feet from the ground, are perilous, and if any two of the rods touch it could cause a nuclear reaction that would be uncontrollable. The radiation emitted from all these rods, if they are not continually cool and kept separate, would require the evacuation of surrounding areas including Tokyo.
