TEPCO is finally admitting that radiation has been leaking to the Pacific Ocean all along. and it\u2019s NOT over\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>I find myself moving between the emotions of sorrow and anger.<\/p>\n<p>It now appears that anywhere from 300 to possibly over\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/sccc.org.au\/pages\/The-Food-Lab.html\" target=\"_blank\"><em>450 tons<\/em>\u00a0of contaminated water\u00a0<\/a>that contains radioactive iodone, cesium, and strontium-89 and 90, is flooding into the Pacific Ocean from the Fukushima Daichi site everyday. To give you an idea of how bad that actually is, Japanese experts estimate Fukushima\u2019s fallout at 20-30 times as high as as the Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear bombings in 1945<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a lot you\u2019re not being told. Oh, the information is out there, but you have to dig pretty deep to find it, and you won\u2019t find it on the corporate-owned evening news.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>An MSNBC\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/usnews.nbcnews.com\/_news\/2012\/04\/08\/11083494-fur-loss-open-sores-seen-in-polar-bears\" target=\"_blank\">article<\/a>\u00a0in April of 2012 reported that\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/birthofanewearth.blogspot.com\/2012\/01\/seals-are-dying-due-to-radiation-from_01.html\" target=\"_blank\">seals<\/a>\u00a0and polar bears were found to have \u201cexternal maladies\u201d that consisted of fur loss and open sores, obvious signs of radiation burns from the Fukushima meltdown, despite the conclusions of the article.<\/li>\n<li>Fukushima radiation appears to be causing an\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/contributed\/2013-03-31\/fukushima-radiation-causing-epidemic-dead-and-starving-sea-lions-california\" target=\"_blank\">epidemic of dead and starving Sea Lions<\/a>\u00a0in California and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/2011\/04\/fda-refuses-to-test-fish-for-radioactivity-government-pretends-radioactive-fish-is-safe.html\" target=\"_blank\">FDA has refused to test for radiation<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/vivian-norris-de-montaigu\/deadly-silence-on-fukushi_b_859241.html\" target=\"_blank\">Update: Huffington Post\u00a0<\/a>reports that the reactors used \u201cdirty fuel,\u201d a combination of\u00a0plutonium and uranium (MOX), which means we can never return to this place again. Plankton, and the radiation they contain, moves right up the food chain through fish, whales, seals, etc., and when larger fish eat smaller fish.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/enenews.com\/kyodo-highest-levels-of-fukushima-contamination-already-east-of-hawaii\" target=\"_blank\">Kyodo: Highest levels of Fukushima contamination in plankton already east of Hawaii?<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>A WARNING TO SEAFOOD LOVERS EVERYWHERE<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Scientists previously reported higher-than-expected concentrations of radiation in fish off Japan. Now there are calls for testing of seafood sold in the U.S.\u00a0Although contaminated air, rainfall and even radioactive debris from Japan have drifted toward the U.S. West Coast since the disaster occurred 2 1\/2 years ago, scientists are unclear about how the contaminated waters could impact the health of Americans, and while scientists say that 300 tons of contaminate water is diluted in the Pacific, no one knows how long that\u2019s been going during those 2 1\/2 years as we also now know TEPCO has been lying all along.\u00a0Nuclear experts are calling on the U.S. government to test West Coast waters and Pacific seafood sold in the U.S. in the wake of Japan\u2019s alarming admission about an ongoing radiation leak, something the EPA and the FDA have so far refused to do, as they are only testing imported fish, not wild-caught.\u00a0WHY? The only way to protect your children and grandchildren is by\u00a0NOT EATING SEAFOOD from the Pacific Ocean until we have better information.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/news.msn.com\/us\/calls-for-seafood-tests-due-to-radiation-leak-in-japanhttp:\/\/news.msn.com\/us\/calls-for-seafood-tests-due-to-radiation-leak-in-japan\" target=\"_blank\">Source<\/a>.Information posted at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nuc.berkeley.edu\/node\/3361\" target=\"_blank\">the website\u00a0<\/a>of heThe Department of Nuclear Engineering at the University of California recommends not buying any fish\u00a0from the Pacific Ocean or western states, including Baja.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT YOU HAVEN\u2019T BEEN TOLD ABOUT FISH CONTAMINATION<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tissue samples taken from 15 bluefin caught in August, five months after the meltdowns at Fukushima Daiichi,<em>\u00a0all 15<\/em>\u00a0contained reactor byproducts cesium-134 and cesium-137.<\/li>\n<li>The 15 fish tested were only exposed to radiation for a short time. But bluefin arriving in California now will have been exposed to the Fukushima radiation for much longer.<\/li>\n<li>Unlike some other compounds, radioactive cesium does not quickly sink to the sea bottom but remains dispersed in the water column, from the surface to the ocean floor.\u00a0Fish can swim right through it, ingesting it through their gills, by taking in seawater or by eating organisms that have already taken it in.<\/li>\n<li>The overwhelming scientific consensus is that there is\u00a0<a title=\"no safe level of radiation \u2026 and radiation consumed and taken into the body is much more dangerous than background radiation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/2012\/05\/nuclear-cheerleaders-use-voodoo-science-to-pretend-low-levels-of-radiation-are-safe-or-even-good-for-you.html\">no safe level of radiation \u2026 and radiation consumed and taken into the body is much more dangerous than background radiation<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The Telegraph\u00a0<a title=\"notes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/worldnews\/northamerica\/canada\/1505564\/Tunas-25000-mile-swim-down-marine-highway.html\" target=\"_blank\">notes<\/a>\u00a0that scientists tagged a bluefin tuna and found that it crossed between Japan and the West Coast three times in 600 days: All Pacific migratory fish are likely Fukushima contaminated.<\/li>\n<li>Why have Contaminated Alaskan Halibut been found even though halibut don\u2019t migrate? Like a dangerous weapon in the hands of a child, technology has overtaken our capacity to control potential consequences.\u00a0\u00a0Oxford University\u2019s\u00a0<em>Future of Humanity Institute<\/em>, led by director Nick Bostrom, says we have entered this new kind of technological era that we have no track record of\u00a0 surviving.<\/p>\n<p>Our technological intelligence may have the potential for creating a better world, but so far, in areas of the economy, genetics and biologics, arms and warfare, security and surveillance, as well as the environment and energy, technology is also completely indifferent to the law of unintended consequences.<\/p>\n<p>Fukushima is what happens when we have the moral responsibility of infants and the technology of adults.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update: August 16th, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been an interesting 36 hours: This website went from 200-300 visitors a day to 0ver 16,000 visitors yesterday and over 39,000 today (so far!). There have also been more comments than any other post that has appeared here, and honestly, the majority of them have been negative.<\/p>\n<p>It started with the graphic that I posted. It turns out, unknowingly to me, that it was an image from NOAA that showed the Tsunami wave height that had been edited to look like the Pacific Ocean Fukushima radiation path.\u00a0 I\u2019m going to look for updated information and will change the graphic and accompanying information as soon as I have time to look for it. Unfortunately, the gigantic jump in viewership crashed my site and I\u2019ve been working on that since yesterday morning. Support and I finally figured out what had happened and I have upgraded the site to handle the traffic.<\/p>\n<p>The negative comments seem to be mostly from people who aren\u2019t willing to have a conversation, demanding that I take the article down, that it\u2019s not credible, that the information is garbage, and even with some resorting to name calling and insults. I have left them all up.\u00a0 Even the one that says I don\u2019t have dose counts. Well, if the FDA would actually do dose counts, we might be able to know that, but since they\u2019ve refused to measure radiation, we can\u2019t know.<\/p>\n<p>We should just trust them when they tell us the radiation levels are safe (levels that keep on changing), that GMO\u2019s are not harmful, that we don\u2019t do do experiments on US citizens, that we\u2019re not spying on the American people, the economy is improving, and that we should live in fear of terrorists. I ask, who are the\u00a0<em>real<\/em>\u00a0terrorists?<\/p>\n<p>Support and I were concerned the the site crash was caused by a \u201cdenial of service attack,\u201d but after checking the access logs, we agreed it wasn\u2019t likely, but not out of the question. I find it unbelievable one article could cause that drastic of a jump in hits. There\u2019s also been a significant number of new members, non of whom are paying or making donations. Let\u2019s see if it holds. I doubt it.<\/p>\n<p>I believe the article is credible and that while reasonable people can disagree, a lot of the negative comments a have a \u201cclimate-denier\u201d feel to them. How many years has that argument been going on? Most people are going to believe what they want \u2013 or have to \u2013 believe. it\u2019s not coming through mainstream sources so it can\u2019t be true? Thanks to sharp and informed readers for sending me links. I stand by the use of the quotes from that website because I feel that it falls within \u201cFair Use\u201d parameters because we were acting in a \u201cnews reporting\u201d mode providing commentary for the purpose of informing the public. Determination of whether copyright infringement has taken place can ultimately only be decided in a federal court. In the meantime, the legal department of my webhost, bluehost, has sent me an email stating that I must remove the article within 48 hours or they will take my website down. I\u2019ll be contacting my attorney next and then issue a statement to them about fair use regulations.
