ProPectin™ is the result of years of clinical studies on apple pectinís ability to reduce the level of Cesium-137 (Cs-137), a long-lasting and dangerous radioactive isotope, in the human body. Apple pectin was given to thousands of children who had been contaminated with radiation following the 1986 nuclear disaster at Chernobyl in Ukraine. Clinical studies have shown that apple pectin can reduce the level of Cs-137 in the body by over 63 percent.* ProPectin is an integral part of our commitment to make a difference in the lives of people—especially children—who may suffer from radiation contamination.
Our goal is to make ProPectin available to as many people as possible. The need for this product is especially high in Japan, due to the nuclear meltdown of three of the countryís six reactors at the Fukushima-Daiichi power plant after the earthquake and tsunami that struck the country in March 2011. Cesium-137 was released into the atmosphere, water and soil, potentially contaminating large areas of the country.
The extent of this contamination—and the harm it will cause—is not yet known. However, we do know radiation that accumulates in the body can be harmful. And we also know that many years of clinical studies have proven apple pectin can help people decrease the level of Cs-137 in their bodies. Reducing the bodyís level of Cs-137 can help prevent the onset of many serious illnesses and health problems.
ProPectin is one way people can effectively arm themselves in combating the danger of radiation contamination now facing Japan. We are proud to offer this product to people who need it, and are working diligently to increase the supply and find ways to make ProPectin available to those who cannot purchase it at this time.
